MCSS Self Storage closes on prime location near the rapidly expanding City of Doral

DORAL, Fla. - May 3, 2016 - PRLog -- MCSS Self Storage LLC ("MCSS"), a developer of urban infill self-storage facilities in South Florida, announced it has closed on the purchase of its ninth development site for an undisclosed amount. The latest acquisition is in proximity to the rapidly growing City of Doral, Miami-Dade County, Fla. The site is strategically positioned close to the northeast corner of the intersection of the Palmetto Expressway & NW 36th Street, the gateway to Doral, Florida. The property will be visible to 200,000 cars per day. With the acquisition of this prime site, the company is on track to develop their goal of 20 urban infill self-storage projects in South Florida.

"We are continuing on our quest to acquire the best sites in South Florida and select strategic markets," said Jay Massirman, managing director at MCSS.

In addition to the most recent purchase, MCSS is developing several locations throughout the tri-county area including those near SoLēMia, Coconut Grove, City of Miami, Sweetwater, Doral, Pembroke Pines, Pembroke Park, Davie and Fort Lauderdale and is active in several areas of Broward and Palm Beach County.

The new self-storage facility will provide clean, safe and secure storage with leading edge technology, architectural design and customer friendly features. The West Airport project will be approximately 77,600 net rentable square feet with 925 climate-controlled storage units. CubeSmart will manage the facility.

Self-storage is a growing industry that generated $24 billion in revenues in 2013, according to the Self-Storage Association (SSA) and is forecast to reach $30 billion in revenues by 2019, according to IBIS World. The market is made up of a handful of large companies plus 30,000 single-facility entrepreneurs. Driving the traditional demand for self-storage across the U.S. are the four Ds: death, divorce, disaster and dislocation. In addition, the country's accumulation of things is outpacing consumer's capacity to keep items in their homes, as the growth of mini-warehouses also attests.
