CHICAGO - May 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Chicago Help Initiative (CHI), hosts its annual Helping Hands Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Tuesday, June 7th  5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Montgomery Club. CHI is a not-for-profit organization that provides meals and social services to the homeless, underprivileged, and today's jobless citizens of the near North Side of Chicago. The annual event attended by 250 guests raises nearly $60,000 to further the efforts of this organization, and this year is led by event chair, Susan Gold, long-standing CHI board member.

Scott Stantis, noted author, humorist, and well known Chicago Tribune political cartoonist hosts The Chicago Help Initiative's 2016 Helping Hands Fundraiser. During the event, guests will be treated to a reception which will begin with the Helping Hands award presentations.  This year, one Helping Hands award will be presented to Ann O'Brien, a dedicated financial supporter and volunteer for the organization.

This is the largest single-day fundraiser for CHI and a key part to its success.  There is a decided need to address the increasing number of homeless and disadvantaged individuals in the area, and a need to provide a united effort to ease the plight of those in need.  CHI was organized to first provide meals to reduce hunger and secondly to provide programs for those in need to bring about change in their lives and in the community.

CHI relies on the surrounding community to sustain the numerous activities offered. From the support and generosity of restaurants, hotels, and individual donors who provide meals, to the social service agency and institution partners providing means by which those in need can secure assistance to bring about change in their lives, and many volunteers, provides a positive path for CHI guests.
