Songdoor 2016 Open for Submissions
The SongDoor 2016 International Songwriting Competition is now open for submissions. Awards will be given to entrants in six categories.
"Another great year in 2015," said SongDoor president, Tony Zotta. "Bringing back the evaluations turned out great. Now anyone who wants feedback on their song can get it for a nominal fee."
Any songwriter who enters will receive $220 worth of free songwriting tools, which includes a full-access 45-day trial from SongU.com (valued at $50), a Broadjam Film & TV membership (worth $100) plus super-easy website-creation software for Mac or Windows. No special membership is required and anyone 16 or older may enter. The entry fee remains at $10 per song, which is what it was in 2006 when SongDoor launched.
This year's competition is in partnership with SongU.com, Colorado Sound Studios, MasterWriter, Authentic Guitars, Broadjam, Steve Avedis and author Robin Frederick, and runs through November 15, 2016. Last year's Grand Award winner Juliette Reilly (from NJ) won with her YouTube pop smash about bullying, "Hero."
Our judges are back again this year: Nancy Moran, Joe Beck, Bill Shore, Jason Blume, Dennis Winters and Steve Avedis. Two Grammy® nominations, a #1 Europe chart hit, a wildly successful national tour and a Top 10 Billboard Country hit are among just a few accomplishments of the SongDoor judges last year alone.
Entrants are eligible to win the Grand Award, which includes a full-band private session demo at Colorado Sound Studios, a one-year Platinum membership to SongU.com, a two-year subscription to MasterWriter 3.0 songwriting software, a one-year Broadjam Film & TV membership, a satin blond Alvarez acoustic guitar and an autographed copy of Robin Frederick's best-selling songwriting book for film and TV. Six Category Winners each receive a valuable package of awards, including a top-shelf guitar-vocal or keyboard-vocal studio demo produced by Grammy®-winner Steve Avedis, and memberships to both SongU.com and Broadjam.
Songs may be entered in six different categories: Christian, Country, Pop, Hard Rock/Alt-Rock, Soft Rock/Alt-Folk and Instrumental. Entries are accepted online through November 15, 2016. Complete information is available at http://songdoor.com.
