Virtual Power Solutions kickstarts crowdfunding campaign in a leading UK platform, Seedrs

LONDON - April 7, 2016 - PRLog -- To reinforce the growth and investment rate on the key markets, which leverages the increased interest and awareness on the investor community for their energy efficiency technological solutions, Virtual Power Solutions has selected a leading crowdfunding platform in the UK, Seedrs, as partner for this investment. Seedrs has a relevant presence on VPS's two major markets, the UK and Portugal, and aims at being a key partner for both investors and investees, through a very simple process, but highly professional that is based on a secure online platform, protecting those that invest and helping those who seek funding.

The investment sought will strengthen VPS in order to be able to respond to the current growth on the UK, where a number of relevant strategic partnerships have already been established, such as with Anesco, the leading company in the UK for energy efficiency solutions, and Property Tectonics, a consulting firm specialized in construction and housing management. This investment will also be beneficial to other partnerships currently under negotiation with leading organizations in the UK.

Virtual Power Solutions originated from the merging of ISA Energy, a spin-off from ISA (the first Portuguese SME listed at NYSE Alternext Lisbon) and Stor Generation, and aims at providing services and solutions that increase energy efficiency and respond to the requirements of individual, enterprise and utilities users. The cost reductions provided by VPS solutions, both Kisense and Cloogy, are in average 10% to 25%, with a return on investment of around 1 year.

Quick growth and adoption illustrate the quality and relevance of VPS technology

VPS has finished 2015, its first year of operations, with around 20 MW of energy usage under management in over 1,800 buildings. Customer trust has allowed, since the beginning of the year, this number has already increased by 15%, which represents over 200 GWh of energy per year, representing the average consumption of around 15,000 homes.

In Portugal, VPS acts in several markets, having as customers some of the largest operations, such as banks, hotel chains, hospitals, etc. Recently, VPS has been chosen by Vodafone Foundation in Portugal to be one of the technological partners for the first smart mountain village, in Sabugueiro, which is also the highest village in all of continental Portugal, showcasing the quality, but also the flexibility, of the company's technological solutions.

For residential customers, Virtual Power Solutions has already sold more than 20,000 units of its Cloogy product, entirely Plug and Play, considered best in class for user experience in home energy management solutions. The countries where this product has already been sold range from the United Kingdom to Germany and France, all the way up to the Middle East. The savings can go up to 25% of total consumption.
