As an early testimonial of its efficiency, kiplo is already under trial with a major blue chip customer, driving benefits of over and above 23% efficiency savings, helping realise 9% of additional cost savings from the optimisation of consumption loads against prevailing tariff structures and an additional 38% by indexing the tariffs to the energy market. With this project, VPS brings to market the first operational VPP which targets energy efficiency, the optimisation of consumption and the monetisation of load. James Napier, CEO of VPS commented: "VPS has always been a leading provider of automated energy monitoring and demand management software platforms. Our expertise has allowed us to bring to market the first, fully integrated, platform that makes the Virtual Power Plant a reality for our customers today. As electricity markets evolve and we start to see the demand side become increasingly important we expect to see greater returns available for the efficient management of consumption and load. In addition penalties, likely in the form of peak pricing tariffs, will increase to penalise those who ignore the necessity to manage their load more effectively and responsibly. kiplo provides our customers with real benefits today, providing granular data and automated action to minimise consumption as well as a future proofed solution that provides optimisation and load management. kiplo will ensure that VPS remains at the leading edge of software that facilitates the energy networks of the future." kiplo integrates embedded generation and storage, helping clients to move towards the digital energy transition by operating decentralized energy systems that optimise the use of distributed generation, energy storage and ensuring more active involvement of consumers. VPS is currently working with a range of commercial and utility clients in Europe to provide integrated platforms and expects to add up to an additional 100MW of load under management before the end of 2016. About Virtual Power Solutions Virtual Power Solutions (VPS) is a tech company that provides ESaaS (Energy Savings as a Service) to all sectors: industrial and commercial, SME and domestic, addressing important market needs arisen from the current energy transition: i) Energy Consumers that want to minimise, optimise and monetise their energy demand, be protected against the future introduction of time-of-use tariffs in European markets, manage the challenges associated with the growing number of electric vehicles and, simultaneously, increase the energy independence and sustainability through Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEB); ii) Utilities and Network Operators who need to balance their grid, assure a secure operation and minimize the deviations to the forecasted demand by introducing ADR capabilities in their customer base. We design solutions for a wide range of economic and industrial sectors, such as banking, retail, the hotel industry, the airport and health sectors, amongst others, whilst also embracing Automated Demand Response (ADR) in electrical distribution grids, public lighting grids and water supply networks. In addition, our solutions allow energy consumption monitoring for housing and SME's. With a strong knowledge and experience in Internet of Things (IoT), developing hardware and software solutions, M2M communication platforms based on cloud and mobile applications for Smart Homes and Smart Cities, VPS ensures savings and decreasing costs, allowing the investment made to be returned in the short-term, increasing sustainability and competitiveness for companies and for people - these are our goals. Because saving energy is all about doing more with less. End
