James Hilgendorf, Speaking on LIfe & Death: A Buddhist Perspective via Skype

EL CERRITO, Calif. - March 15, 2016 - PRLog -- James Hilgendorf, speaker and author, presented two talks this weekend of March 13th, 2016, on topics drawn from one of his books, "LIfe & Death: A Buddhist Perspective."  Both talks and discussions were held via Skype video.

The two venues involved the Humanists of Colorado, located in Denver, Colorado, and the Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The talks involved a 40 minute presentation, followed by 20-25 minutes of questions and discussion.

The presentations included Buddhist concepts, but also drew on commentary and writings from a wide range of famous people, including the great English historian Arnold Toynbee; Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, who was one of the great pioneers in death and dying and near-death experience research; John Wheeler, one of the great physicists of the twentieth century who pioneered quantum physics; Joseph Campbell, the mythologist and writer; Friedrich Nietzsche, the great German philosopher; Henri Bergson, author of "Creative Evolution"; and a host of others.

Part of the talks were also devoted to the topic of happiness, as expressed by a number of famous contributors, as well as from the perspective of Buddhism.
