“The C.A.L.L.” Reaches No. 1 On Amazon Best Seller List

By: Towanna Freeman

WASHINGTON - Feb. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Dr. Towanna Freeman announced that her new book, “The C.A.L.L (http://thecallforyoungmen.com/book): Inspiring Stories for Young Men About Character, Accountability, Love and Leadership,” will be released in May 2016. Available for a limited time for pre-order, the book has already topped #1 in three different categories on the Amazon Best Seller’s list.

“My spirit was stirred on the evening of Feb. 26, 2012 as I watched the eleven o’clock news describe the unfolding events that led to the death of Trayvon Martin, a young Black man with a life of promise ahead of him,” said Freeman.

That event was the impetus that again demonstrated to Freeman how badly young Black men needed positive role models to uplift, inspire and guide them on their journey to manhood. The acronym C.A.L.L. was born, representing character, accountability, love and leadership, and she issued a special invitation to others who wanted to make a positive impact in the lives of young men.

“The C.A.L.L” is a collaborative effort between Freeman and 20 male co-authors who worked to create the ground-breaking anthology. Each of the individuals who contributed to the book had a story to tell that was relevant to an entire generation of young men. The contributors’ life stories inspire, motivate and connect with young men to empower, create new opportunities and give them hope.

The book encompasses stories in four categories that correspond to the C.A.L.L. acronym. Stories in the Character category are about integrity, values and coming into manhood. Accountability features stories about making decisions, choices, perseverance, correction and consequences. Stories of Love are about giving and receiving love in life, relationships and in all its various forms. Leadership stories address leadership of self, peers, teams and others.

Freeman’s book is unique in that it’s the only book for young men that is a collaborative effort that employs an anthology format to reach readers. The need for young men is so great that the author’s future vision includes the formation of a speaker’s bureau of co-authors to take the project on the road to select cities and communities throughout the U.S.

Available for a limited time for pre-order on Amazon, the book will be released in Kindle eBook and print format. “The C.A.L.L.” has already won respect and acclaim from leaders in business, education and life skills. The one-of-a-kind book is a project arising out of the Black Life Coaches Network, a community of over 600 Black professionals throughout the US, UK and Canada, committed to using the modality of coaching to empower and enhance lives.
