TOTNES, U.K. - Jan. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- St John’s church in Bridgetown, Totnes hosted International award winning Composer and Choir Director Helen Yeomans and her acclaimed a capella choir Glorious Chorus, supported by her Thuma Mamas harmony group on 20th December to raise funds for the South Devon charity Rowcroft Hospice.

The choir performed a selection of toe tapping Christmas classics and Helen’s original soulful music at the concert to a sell-out audience who were very much in a festive mood. (The show was also filmed by the BBC and was then featured on BBC spotlight) The highlight of the evening was hearing Glorious Chorus sing Helen’s award winning gospel song ‘Saved’ during their encore. The choir and its choir director were then given a standing ovation before they all left the church hall to much cheering and rapturous applause!

All in all the evening was a great success and raised £570.00 for the charity. The choir was also able to donate more from its own funds to bring the total to £621.50. Two other local charities were also given money from the concert proceeds, the total charitable donation by the choir being almost £1,000.

Glorious Chorus have now begun to rehearse for the summer season and the emphasis this year is on gospel and soul music.  There will be more original music from Helen in the new set well as some much loved well known songs which will be given the Glorious Chorus twist! The choir will be performing at a number of festivals across the country this year and they will return to Totnes to perform in July.
