Follow on Google News | The Naples Players to Host Swing Ye NoëlBy: The Naples Players Maestro Noll, who is mainly known for his performances of the three B’s - Bach Beethoven, and Brahms - is going to add two more B’s - Big Band - to his repertoire. “My big band in Atlanta played three sold-out holiday concerts every year in the prestigious Spivey Hall. Now it is time to bring this concert here. The musicians in this big band ensemble come from throughout the state. It is an astonishing collection of talent,” states Maestro Noll. The selections on the program will reflect unique arrangements of holiday melodies, along with famous traditional tunes from the collections of Miller, Dorsey and Ellington. It will also include arrangements that Mr. Noll has commissioned and recorded. Maestro Noll has recorded with his big band jazz orchestra for Time-Life, Sony and Newport record labels. “Fascinating Rhythm,” a Noll album, is currently available for sale on Amazon.com. Last winter Noll’s band performed for the 20th Anniversary of Classic Chamber Concerts when John Sorey, Executive Director of The Naples Players, exclaimed, “William, you need to bring your big band orchestra to Fifth Avenue for a special holiday concert!” From that the “Swing Ye Noël Big Band Christmas” was launched. Maestro Noll adds, “I love performing at the Sugden Theatre on Fifth Avenue. There is a great sense of community spirit there. The holidays and swing music are a great unifying force. I am thrilled to share this special music with our community!” With shows at 5:30 and 8:00 p.m., attendees can schedule an early or late dinner on Fifth Avenue with its festive lights and holiday decorations to truly get in the spirit. Tickets are $50 and can purchased at the box office by calling 239-263-7990 or online at naplesplayers.org. End
