Rev Richard P Wilson discusses the attacks on his church on A Matter of Interpretation on WIGNTV

Nov. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- " A Matter of Interpretation " ended its season with Satan's Attack on the Church", which aired on November 1, 2015.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Rev. Wilson and visiting his church before my promo on abortion and knew that I would be meeting him again to discuss satan's attack on the church.

Rev Wilson was born on March 28, 1952 in Quincy, Illinois

He was licensed in August, 1968 by the Late Rev. T.R. Edwards at Union Baptist Church in Quincy, IL.and ordained in 1972 by the Late Dr. E.K. Bailey at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Dallas, TX

His vision for his ministry is to preach, teach, and cast vision in an endeavor to challenge Christians to embrace a heart for lost and hurting people, a spirit of servant leadership, a mindset for excellence in ministry, and the discovery and use of their spiritual gifts to build God’s church; and, to develop fully devoted followers of Christ through worship, evangelism, discipleship and stewardship. I also want to establish the effective role of the church in the life of the community.

Education: Graduated from Quincy Public Schools, Quincy Illinois. Attended Bishop College, Dallas TX.

Personal Statement of Faith

I believe that the Church is called to be a Christ-centered, people loving, joy filled, and hope giving entity. It is my contention that the mission of the church is to minister to the needs of thetotal person through the relentless, relational, resourceful pursuit of helping people find a right relationship with God, to follow Christ, and to serve Him with their whole heart. I cherish the liberty that believers have in Christ Jesus and honor the principles of the priesthood of all believers. I accept the challenge to address the needs of this present generation through the truth as revealed in Scripture, by focusing on a relevant gospel for our contemporary times as we bear witness to Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I boldly proclaim that I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.

I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and the promise of abundant life as a young child. After years of soul-searching, January 7, 1968 at Union Baptist Church in Quincy, IL., I yielded in faithful obedience to the call of God into full-time Christian service. Since that time it has been my endeavor to encourage, equip, empower, and enlist believers in the fulfillment of the Great Commission through ministering to the least and the lost among us.
