Apple CEO hints at “massive changes” in Auto Industry

News reports have always indicated the possibility of Apple’s entry in the auto industry. But, this week, the world got to hear about it from the horse’s mouth. Tim Cook recently warned of “massive changes” in the industry.
 
Oct. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s Global Technology Conference, WSJD Live in Laguna Beach of California, Apple CEO Tim Cook informed that, “It would seem like there will be massive change in that industry, massive change.”

He further added, “We’ll see what we do in the future, I do think that the industry is at an inflection point for massive change.” Tim Cook didn’t divulge details but he told the audience that heightened importance of in-car software and autonomous cars is a reason for his belief.

While, Tim Cook has refrained from answering any question related to Apple’s entry into the auto industry, Apple has already started making considerable progress. There have been reports of Apple designing a car. In recent months, it has hired a number of engineers with knowledge of automotive industry.

Also, Apple's CarPlay has been chosen by Porsche for its new car.
