4 Leading Cellists compete for Broadway producer Marc Routh and pianist Julian Gargiulo's accolades

NEW YORK - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- David Drake, Chairman of LDJ Capital, The Soho Loft Media Group and Victoria Global attended the “Chopin and Champagne” event last  September, 18, 2015 held at the loft of Marc Routh, the producer of “An American in Paris” where Julian Gargiulo and the Cellists performed.

The evening event is a precursor to the January 17, 2016 Carnegie Hall Concert  that will be hosted by Steinway Artist Julian Gargiulo, renown pianist and composer,  along with Kevin Zraly, a celebrity sommelier who won James Beard's Lifetime Achievement Award.

David Drake says.  "I have a passion for the arts.  Early this year, I organized several fundraising events, dubbed “A Night for the Arts” series, to help revive the People's Opera.  The "Getting to Carnegie" competition that Julian Gargiulo founded two years ago offers a great opportunity to build musical arts, and I support his efforts."

The Chopin and Champagne event was  a fundraising activity in support of a documentary film that is based on a non-traditional idea of a cello competition dubbed "Getting to Carnegie". This competition brings young cellists, drawn from leading conservatories across the globe to a central location where they stage performances at the Carnegie Hall. The audience decides who the winner of the competition is in a live session.  "Getting to Carnegie" is an event that Julian Gargiulo conceptualized two years ago when he welcomed musicians from leading global conservatories to participate in a competition to share the Carnegie Recital Hall stage with him. The winner of this cello competition gets to travel with him and the team of globally respected musicians for performances at Water Island Music Festival. The Huffington Post has described this competition as a meeting between America's Got Talent and Carnegie Hall.

Juilliard Musicians Anna Litvinenko, cellist and Haeji Kim,  violinist also performed in this evening event  sponsored by Sherry Lehmann.
