"Landed Hong Kong" Guides Buyers Through the Complexities of Hong Kong’s Real Estate Market

Oct. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- The best-selling property guide Landed Hong Kong has been updated with new information for individuals and companies buying or investing in Hong Kong real estate. Two-thirds of the material in Landed Hong Kong (http://landedbook.com; ISBN: 978-988-17147-9-4) is new, including chapters about purchasing a village house in the New Territories, buying off the plan, building management, ownership and property rights, and the risk factors that make Hong Kong unique.

“The market has changed enormously since Landed: The expatriate's guide to buying and renovating property in Hong Kong was published in 2008,” notes author Christopher Dillon. “Prices have doubled, the influence of Mainland buyers has grown and the government has introduced legislation addressing everything from taxes and stamp duty to renovations and environmental protection. Landed Hong Kong gives readers the key facts and insights they need to manage these changes and successfully buy property in Hong Kong.”

Landed Hong Kong includes:
• Step-by-step guides to buying new and pre-owned homes
• Detailed case studies about residential, commercial and industrial property
• Information about buying a home in the New Territories, including local laws and politics
• Practical guidance on planning and executing renovations
• Descriptions of key neighborhoods, with typical homes and prices
• Demographic trends, including the impact of Mainland investors, immigrants and shoppers
• Background on the laws and government departments that oversee sales and renovations
• Clear explanations of government land leases and zoning
• Tips for finding and working with real estate agents, designers and other suppliers
• Information about financing, insurance, taxes and Hong Kong’s legal system
• Additional resources, covering everything from architects to utilities
• Extensive checklists for buyers

Reviews of Landed Hong Kong are positive. Lan Kwai Fong Holdings’ Allan Zeman called the book “A must-have for everyone–whether tenant, landlord or long-time Hong Kong investor.” Paul Zimmerman, District Councilor for Pokfulam and CEO of Designing Hong Kong, said “Landed Hong Kong—written by a person who has done it himself—helps you keep your costs down, avoid pitfalls and recognize opportunities.”
