FPANJ Tells Consumers to 'Find us on Facebook!'

First public-facing social media channel will be built with information from advisers, media and engagement from consumers.

Aug. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Upper Montclair, NJ, August 2015 - The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey (FPANJ) has long been an advocate of providing opportunities for the public to become more financially literate, and announced they have launched a Facebook page (https://facebook.com/FPAnewjersey). The goals will be to engage more directly with the public to share relevant articles on financial topics that impact them, as well as invite them to events like Financial Planning Day to gain more knowledge about their finances.

"We have long supported the mission of providing financial literacy to the public, and after careful consideration of how to improve those efforts, we embraced this social media platform," said FPANJ President Bill Stratton. "We are eager to engage with the public to hear their concerns, to provide them with information they need, and help them understand how the role of a financial planner can help them succeed, no matter their income level."

"We also have a membership base that has at its core a commitment to helping their clients thrive, and we are looking forward to their involvement in providing helpful input. That information, coupled with information that media partners publish for a consumer audience, will provide a reliable resource on social media for people to use and to seek further advice," he added.

This move marks the first effort by FPANJ to move into a public-facing social media platform. However it's likely to drive other efforts to build a strong relationship with the public to use the organization as a resource for financial literacy education as well as finding a planner.
