AUSTIN, Texas - July 7, 2015 - PRLog -- What is it like for a young person (just turned 11) when an unexpected health crisis happens in the family?

This week my father had a minor car accident that resulted in shearing of an abdominal arortic anuerysm that required surgery. The process unfolded over a few days before all the pieces came together of what actually happened and what needed to be done.

Our journey began in Laredo, Texas. He would be arriving in Austin, Texas via helicopter before it was over having anuerysm repair.  It was frightening for all of us and my questions this week are for my niece, "what was this like for you?"

In healthcare circles and in families all over the world, we ask the same questions..."how much should we say?" "should we say anything?" "should we talk about the risks?" "what is appropriate?"

This podcast is one young girl, Liliana Flores, age 11, and her view of how the week unfolded and what she needed and how she felt.
