Surfy Industrial browser brings locked-down browsing and barcode reader support to WEH 8.1 devices

July 5, 2015 - PRLog -- - Till now, organizations using devices running the WEH 8.1 operating system have been flat out of luck when it comes to an industrial browser solution. Devices such as the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1, the Bluebird BM180 and BP30, have had to rely on custom solutions.

Outcoder, the company behind Surfy, the popular web browser for Windows Phone, comes to the rescue with their Surfy Industrial lock-down web browser. The browser offers barcode scanning and keyboard wedge support. In addition, it allows organizations to restrict URLs and lockdown browser settings. This is especially useful when the device is configured in kiosk mode. The app can be configured and locked down with a password, and the configuration exported and then imported into another device using an SD Card, NFC or via the cloud. For organizations that operate in multiple regions, Surfy Industrial has you covered. It’s available in 20 languages.

Since Surfy Industrial is based on the popular Surfy browser, it comes with a host of other features. A full list is available on the http://www.IndustrialBrowser.com website.
