SEM Link a participating charity in East Bay Gives on May 5th

Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. is a participating charity in the East Bay Community Foundation’s 2nd Annual East Bay Gives on May 5th , a day of giving to support nonprofits in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

OAKLAND, Calif. - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link),  a participating charity on  May 5th  during  the 2nd Annual “East Bay Gives” , the East Bay Community Foundation  (EBCF) day to support nonprofit organizations in Alameda and Contra    Costa counties. East Bay Gives is the foundation’s chance to bring 360 local nonprofit organizations together with hundreds of donors who want to help fund their vital work in our communities. East Bay Gives will be accepting donations, on www.eastbaygives.org,  for the 24 hour period from midnight to midnight on May 5th.  Individuals interested in making a donation to SEM Link can do so by visiting SEM Link’s East Bay Gives page at

SEM Link has been serving the East Bay since expanding its programming to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2010. SEM Link’s signature event in the East Bay is our Annual STEM Career Fair for youth the 1st Saturday of March at Laney College. In addition to the our career fair, we host a Science Fiction Film and Writing Festival in June in partnership with the African American Museum and Library of Oakland. We also send our volunteers, STEM professionals, undergraduate and graduate students, to engage youth in hands on STEM activities in schools in the Aspire Public Schools, Oakland Unified School District and West Contra Costa School District.  “The East Bay is a great environment to create a homegrown pipeline for the future STEM workforce. Our programs connecting youth  to the STEM community so they students think about the diversity of STEM Careers they can pursue and have role models that can guide them in pursuit of them.” stated Ms. Tokiwa T.
