CHARLESTON, S.C. - March 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Anchor Media Group, LLC, a worldwide content producer and distributor for home entertainment and broadcast programming with its headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina announces the Charleston premiere of their critically-acclaimed musical documentary "Circle Unbroken – A Gullah Journey from Africa to America.”

The event will be a live Gullah singing spectacular starring Aunt Pearlie-Sue and The Gullah Kinfolk to be held at the beautiful and historic Sottile Theatre on the campus of the College of Charleston on March 28, 2015. Doors open 6:30, Box office opens 5:00 PM and the show begins at 7:30 PM.

Gullah spiritual music is mixed with historic and informative narrative and lavish imagery that tells the real story from the horrors of the middle passage slave voyages to the celebration of freedom. This is the untold account of black history in America.

It is estimated that 75% of the West Africans brought to America during the slave trade entered the country through ports in the Lowcountry; the home of Gullah. This suggests that half or more of today’s African Americans can trace their roots in America to the land of the Gullah.

C. Jeffrey Wright. President and CEO of Urban Ministries, Inc. says, "Circle Unbroken - A Gullah Journey from Africa to America is an important, entertaining and educational journey through the roots of our nation's history.  For African Americans in particular, if you have not seen this story and don't know this history, you are missing a critical piece of your personal identity. UMI has long understood that (our) people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6) finally this knowledge is brought credibly and vibrantly to the screen.  A must see.”
