Follow on Google News | Utilities Firm Presents a Community Achievement AwardBy: Trojan Utilities As part of Trojan’s commitment to support Bolton’s deaf community they approached Bolton University’s Art Design and Media Department to present a live brief to the Graphic Design course that would give the Society a new lease of life, and provide a connection to the community through design. Developed into a module as part of the BA course, 14 budding graphic artists developed a portfolio of work ranging from logos, marketing material and a graphical historical timeline of the Society, from its inception in 1868 to the present day, ready for exhibition where the winner was chosen. Operations Manager Lisa Jackson and Communications and Compliance Co-ordinator Haleema Shabir attended the event on behalf of Trojan Utilities. Lisa said: “Giving back to the community is one of our company foundations; Bolton Deaf Society Manager Alison Parker said: “I can’t thank Trojan Utilities and the University of Bolton enough. Their help will literally give us a new lease of life as we publicise the centre is still open for members of the deaf community and those who are hard of hearing. Anything that improves the building is great for us and the community." Trojan Utilities specialises in the installation and maintenance of domestic Smart Meters throughout the UK; including the installation and maintenance of traditional domestic gas and electric meters. With an infrastructure now established for national operations the company is supporting Government legislation to lower the carbon footprint of the UK by replacing the metering system currently in place with that of smart metering – to date they are currently installing 2,000 smart meters per week.
