Follow on Google News | Aabalat Makes It Easier to Shop for Fine and Rare WinesThe new wesbite for Aabalat.com makes the customer experience more pleasant and includes a wishlist where you can tag that $1000 bottle of Red Burgubdy you had your eye on.
“We are hoping this investment takes us through the next five years,” says managing member Bob Orlandi. “Technology and web culture changes so rapidly. Our old site felt so dated. And even though our wines are typically old, we don’t want the purchasing process to feel that way.” Some of the new features include a customer account that will enable visitors to create a Wish List of wines for future purchase, and it will simplify subsequent order checkouts. There is also a more organized set of helpful tips about fine and rare wine, wine investing and fun wine facts. Peter Parks, order fulfillment manager at Aabalat.com, commented, “we still have little tweaks to make, but the site has been thoroughly tested for the past couple of weeks and is ready for customers to begin using it. Getting new bottle pictures uploaded, for example, will take many, many months.” This makes sense considering Aabalat has over 5000 labels listed on their site, but only a couple bottles of each label. This is the second website revision for Aabalat.com since its inception in 1995. It took over a year to design and test the new website, as the company chose to transition away from commission-based website hosts. “This was an expensive venture for us, as a small, family business, but one we hope will prove to augment our communication and relationship with our customers,” commented Bob Orlandi.
