Some of the benefits of playing Field Hockey include healthier body weight, development of the cardiovascular system, improved muscle strength, better coordination, team work, and improved communication skills. Surprisingly, a total of 260 schools around the United States, offer scholarship opportunities to those who excel in the sport of field hockey. About $1 billion in full and partial athletic scholarships are awarded each year by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to more than 126,000 undergraduate student-athletes at Division I and Division II schools.
