ALLSTON, Mass. - Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Unbound Visual Arts and the Harvard Allston Education Portal  are very pleased to announce the opening of Angela Fiori: Optic Serenity. This exhibition, at the Harvard Allston Education Portal Art Galleries, features oil and acrylic paintings that present the serene side of animal life through their mindful eyes. The exhibition, curated by John Quatrale, runs  from September 18 - October 31, 2014.

This exhibition of oil and acrylic paintings includes a large number of two seemingly different animal species - cows and birds.  Through her animal portraits, Angela displays a common sense of warmth with her adept use of light, shadow and color for the animals and in backgrounds.   She chooses just the right combination to ensure that the animals remain the center of attention while at the same time giving context to her paintings.  In her paintings the cows and birds bring forth a very strong sense of serenity and peace.  This characteristic of most animals is usually overlooked by others. Angela accomplishes this through the many sets of peaceful, yet alert, eyes that oftentimes look directly at the viewer.   By their very nature, all animals are at ease most of the time.  They are content and accepting of their daily lives.  It’s hard not to look at these animals and not be struck by their constant presence, even when their purpose or meaning is not always apparent.  Do you think these animals are happy now?  Do you think they are worried or fearful about anything that is to come in the future?  Do these animals make you feel calm?

The opening reception with the artist and curator is Thursday Oct. 2nd 5:30-7:00 pm. The exhibition runs from September 18 through October 31, 2014 and is open Monday - Thursday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
