Radford University Opens Dept. of CST to eIntern For Entire Day Discussing Internships, Employment

FAIRFAX, Va. - Sept. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- eIntern will be at Radford University this Wednesday, September 24, 2014, spending the entire day meeting, speaking with and presenting to students in the Department of Computer Science and Technology. Though eIntern will be discussing the eInternship platform and encouraging students to enroll early in their academic careers, Chief Operating Officer Ashwin Bharath will be discussing a wide range of topics including:

What are employers looking for in potential interns as well as for employment?
What technologies are trending that should students be learning today.
What does the road map for future technologies look like and what skills are employers having the most difficult time finding in recent college graduates?
How does a college student become an experienced entry-level programmer?
Effective resume and interview tips from the perspective of the recruiter and hiring manager.
How do you answer those difficult yet common interview questions?
Why students should start completing internships as early as their FIRST YEAR in college and how it will impact their earning potential when they graduate!?
Common misconceptions about the demand in the IT field. Hint: No it’s NOT automatic that you’ll find the job that you want.

eIntern will be making its Five-Minute-Hello to several classes throughout the day. Radford professors are sacrificing valuable class time to ensure their students are aware of the Information Session & TechTalk held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm in Stuart Lounge. Bharath will give a complete presentation on eIntern, how to qualify for an internship and what impact it will have on a student receiving an offer in general and receiving an offer months before even graduating from college.

Pizza and drinks will be served at the Information Session & TechTalk.

To bring the day to a close, Dr. Hui Wang has graciously offered her 4:00 pm class for eIntern to discuss with the seniors about life after graduation and ensure if they haven’t completed any internships, they know it’s not too late. And if they have completed internships, there’s no such thing as too many internships.

Many thanks to Dr. Jeff Pittges for years of his support, Dr. Wang and David Horton for making sure each and every student knows eIntern is coming, and Dr. Orion Rogers for always taking a moment to meet while on campus and handing over his department to eIntern for the day.
