Follow on Google News | Phase One of Westlake Village Community Park & Triunfo Y Scheduled for Completion in SeptemberConstruction of phase one of the Westlake Village Community Park and Triunfo YMCA consisting of two new baseball/softball synthetic turf fields with an overlay soccer field and volleyball court, is scheduled for completion in September.
By: Triunfo YMCA Future phases of the community park will include an additional baseball/softball field, large play area, soccer fields, additional restroom/concession building, completion of the walking/jogging trail and fitness stations. These city improvements will be constructed as funding becomes available. “The city is pleased to be a partner with the Triunfo YMCA in this truly collaborative city/YMCA project, which provides the community with additional active parkland and unique recreational facilities for all ages to enjoy,” says Mark Rutherford, Westlake Village mayor. Construction has already begun on the YMCA building and footprint which features two enclosed pools, a basketball court and 5,000 square foot multipurpose/ “The gifts we have received from David Murdock, Dole Foods, Anne Romine and Doug and Penny Yarrow, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and a host of others have enabled us to create exactly what we need from our community. Business partners from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are seeing the benefits of partnering with us,” says Ronnie Stone, executive director of the Triunfo Y. Recent partners are Triunfo YMCA board member Bill Gray, Tavern 101, Stonefire Grill and Homewood Suites. Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Foundation has pledged a gift of $25,000 to highlight the par course area around the walking path. “We can't wait for the Y and park environment to be bustling with family sports and cultural arts enjoyment. Tot lot playgrounds and outside picnic areas with concessions buildings will also offer intergenerational participation. Special needs locker rooms and a warm water therapy pool are also included in the Y building plans,” says Stone.
