9 Clare schools included in Summer Works Programme

The 9 Clare schools are among 387 schools nationwide to receive funding under this year’s Scheme which covers projects such as electrical, gas and mechanical works.

CONNOLLY, Ireland - March 20, 2014 - PRLog -- March 20, 2014 (FPRC) -- Welcoming the funding announcement, which is drawn from a national allocation of 36m euro, Senator Mulcahy said: “The Summer Works Scheme is a vitally important scheme not only for its delivery of much needed improvements to Clare schools but the creation of jobs in the local construction sector during July and August.

The Fine Gael Senator added: “The Government is committed to delivering improvements in the quality of existing primary and post-primary school accommodation throughout County Clare despite the current fiscal constraint. The capacity of schools to take responsibility for delivering small and medium-scale projects is a key component of this scheme and I am delighted that 9 Clare schools will benefit this year."

“The upgrade works will take place during the summer holidays so as to minimise the disruption to the schools in question”, he concluded.

Primary Schools List:
Cratloe NS, Scariff Central NS, (Electrical), Killaloe Boys NS, Cooraclare BNS, Scoil Mhichil Cahermurphy, Connolly NS and Kilnaboy NS (Mechanical). Post-Primary Schools List: Ennis Community College (Gas) and St Michael's Community College Kilmihil (Electrical).
