PRLog -- Since the summer of 2000, Nazzaro’s has been an Island institution for traditional and innovative Italian-American cuisine and warm hospitality. In an ongoing quest to support Georgia Farmers, Nazzaro’s recently began using Georgia Olive Farms Olive Oil in all of their savory recipes; they have also made it available to their patrons for purchase at the restaurant.
Extra virgin olive oil is a primary component of Italian cuisine. It is one of the most essential and versatile ingredients in the world of cooking, and has always been used in the authentic Italian recipes of Nazzaro’s Italian Restaurant & Bar. A small cadre of Georgia farmers wants to change our growing dependence on foreign olive oil. Jason Shaw, a South Georgia farmer, insurance executive and freshman legislator, and his partners in Georgia Olive Farms are spearheading the effort to make artisan olive oil Georgia's newest cash crop.
