Dr. Kiran Bedi to address woman students of Jain University

BANGALORE, India - Nov. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- The main intention of inviting Dr. Kiran Bedi is to make the women students in Jain University to realize the true potential and power within them. In times when incidents of violence inflicted on women are reported on a regular basis it is essential that women discover, exercise and encourage “Women Empowerment”.  Dr. Kiran Bedi will be speaking elaborately on issues faced by women and how they can take a stand, demand and fight for their rights.

Dr. Chenraj Roychand, President, Jain University Trust will also preside over the function.

About Kiran Bedi:

The eminent writer, Khushwant Singh, in one of his columns, described Dr. Kiran Bedi as "The gutsiest woman I have ever known". Dr. Kiran Bedi was the first Indian woman to join the Indian Police Services. Spectators at the 1973 Republic Day Parade were amazed to see a lady at the head of the Police Contingent. The then Prime Minister, Mrs. lndira Gandhi was so impressed that she invited Dr. Bedi for breakfast with her the very next day. Since then till date Dr. Bedi has been the pride of the Indian police force. She is a lady with an iron will. She has won many awards for her contribution in providing good governance and an effective leadership. She has been an Asian Tennis Champion and has won many other tennis championship titles. Kiran Bedi has been an ardent supporter of women empowerment. Her efforts in this direction have been manifold.
