Dining At The Signature Room In November Supports Kids Fight Cancer

CHICAGO - Nov. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Each month, The Signature Room at the 95^th® features one charity to receive 10 percent of sales generated from designated dinner items. Throughout the month of November, Kids Fight Cancer is the non-profit benefiting as the chosen Charity of the Month. More than $1 million has been donated to over 200 Chicago non-profits since the program’s inception in 1993 by owners of The Signature Room®, Rick Roman and Nick Pyknis.

Kids Fight Cancer’s mission is to “provide pediatric and adolescent cancer patients with a safe, educational and entertaining environment which reduces the stresses, side effects and emotional struggles confronted during cancer treatment.” Kids Fight Cancer was founded in 1985 by the late Jim Pesoli and now led by his son, Jim, the organization’s efforts now support institutions throughout the country benefitting thousands of patients and families. Kids Fight Cancer holds the motto "Celebrating Life."

Designated dinner menu items throughout November will feature delicious seasonal options for every course. Begin with starters including Cuttlefish Pasta made with crabmeat and corn and a basil-citrus aioli; Butternut Squash Soup with gingerbread croutons and a spiced crème fraîche; or Kale and Chickpea Salad with lamb bacon, raisins and red pepper dressing.  For an entrée, enjoy the Rosemary Crusted Venison with maitake mushrooms, butternut squash puree and gin-infused pears. The Chocolate Rice Pudding with sherry poached figs and candied pine nuts provide the sweet ending.

Mission statements of all Charity of the Month non-profits are posted on the restaurant’s website along with full details regarding the application and review process. All beneficiaries are chosen during an annual application review.
