About The Community Chorus The Community Chorus was founded in 1980 through the efforts of the late Jim Wensing, a musical name still familiar to the area, along with members of the Greendale Community Church and Emanuel United Church of Christ. For the past 29 years The Community Chorus has been under the direction of Jerry Jenkins, longtime music teacher, director and accompanist in the Whitnall School System. What began as a simple four-part harmony chorus of 20 singers has grown to an exceptional 80-voice chorus that delights audiences and attracts talented singers from more than 20 communities throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Each season the chorus performs six outdoor concerts at venues throughout the Milwaukee area and two public concerts at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Hales Corners. About The School Sisters of St. Francis The School Sisters of St. Francis are an international community of Catholic sisters who unite with others to build a just and peaceful world. Founded in 1874, they now have sisters, associates, staff, donors and volunteers actively working to address the needs of those who are poor and marginalized by society. Their mission is thriving throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and India. For more information about the School Sisters of St. Francis, please visit www.sssf.org. End
