Manhattan Beach Optometry Clinic Announces Computer Vision Problems

Focusing on a backlit screen for a long time causes eyestrain, which eventually results in various symptoms. Luckily there are remedies for computer vision that can be prescribed at a Manhattan Beach optometry clinic, like Advanced Eyecare Center.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Oct. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – October 17, 2013 – Michael Hansen, optometrist at Advanced Eyecare Center, states in a recent blog post, “Computer eye problems are very common these days because people continuously work or focus on a computer, mobile phone and/or television screen.”  He continues by saying, “Computer eye problems affect children and adults alike. Children often play video games on portable devices and use computers in school, while adults often work on a computer all day.”

This Manhattan Beach Optometry center (http://advancedeyecarecenter.net/south-bay-area/manhattan-beach/) has many patients that protest various symptoms cause by constantly focusing on backlit screen.  Hansen explains to his readers, “Working on the computer strains the eye muscles due to continuous movement of the eyes in alignment with the content one is focusing on. It is more challenging to read something from a computer screen than it is from a piece of paper as the screen may flicker and has a glare of light.”

Symptoms named by Michael Hansen include blurred vision, dry eyes, double vision, back and neck ache, and headaches.  A person who seeks a solution to their computer vision symptoms can learn more about each particular symptom in this Manhattan Optometry Center’s recent posting.

Some people are more prone to computer vision than others.  Hansen says, “People who have existing eye conditions are more likely to experience computer eye problems. Computer eye problems may also worsen an existing eye condition.”  He then adds, “Working on a computer becomes harder as one becomes older. The ability to focus on images that are too close or too far begins to diminish and the eye lens becomes less flexible.”
