NEW YORK - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Anxious parents everywhere will embrace the new Baby’s Fairy vital signs monitor, an innovative product that should be available in early 2014 if a recently launched crowd funding effort is successful.

The crowd funding campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/baby-s-fairy-the-first-baby-vital-signs-monitor) on Indiegogo is intended to raise $50,000 for large-scale manufacturing of the product.

The Baby’s Fairy (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/baby-s-fairy-the-first-baby-vital-signs-monitor) idea was conceived in 2011 by entrepreneur Francois Donnet and Dr. Sebastien Murcia, a pediatric oncologist. They assembled an internationally renowned research-and-development team to create the prototype.

The product features a medical-grade silicone adjustable wristband for the baby or toddler up to age three, and a parent base that can track vital signs from more than 32 yards away. The LCD screen on the parent base displays real-time information including heart rate and body temperature.

Baby’s Fairy requires no software installation or app downloads, said Donnet, making it perfect for parents on the go and other caregivers such as daycare or relatives.

"Baby's Fairy will potentially save lives,"said Dr. Murcia. "Deaths of seemingly healthy infants occur all too frequently. Our advanced technology, along with portability and ease of use, makes Baby's Fairy one of the most important and innovative child safety products."

Baby’s Fairy has been rigorously tested for safety for the past several months. The technology uses a multi-mode, low-power wireless module that is Federal Communications Commission-certified. The bracelet transmits heart-rate data every three seconds and temperature data every five seconds. Baby’s Fairy has rechargeable batteries with about 48 hours of battery life.

The parent base alerts parents if the child’s temperature is over 100.4 degrees or below 95.9 degrees, or if the heart rate is over 165 or below 60 beats per minute.

Baby’s Fairy will be sold on www.babysfairy.com and eventually by retailers all over the world.

The crowd funding campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/baby-s-fairy-the-first-...) is on Indiegogo until Nov. 15. Each donation level offers different donor benefits, including a Baby’s Fairy apron, one of the first produced Baby’s Fairy systems for boy (blue) or girl (pink), and multiple sets of the product perfect for daycares.

Baby's Fairyis not a medical device and does not replace appropriate medical care or treatment or parental supervision.
