In 2013 the ICEF Latin America Workshop returned to Sao Paulo, Brazil. In its fifth year, the workshop passed the 200 agent mark for the first time in event history, increasing in agent numbers by 5%.

In total 193 educators and service providers from 20 countries travelled to Sao Paulo for three days of networking with 212 quality agents from Brazil and 12 other Latin American countries, combining for 4151 pre-scheduled meetings. Additional networking opportunities at break times and at the evening functions provided participants with even more time to get to know partners, share ideas and build important personal relationships.

The workshop proved to be very beneficial for both new and long-time participants to the event. Dave Lee of Vernon School District, Canada, said of his first Latin America Workshop: “This event exceeded my expectations. It was excellent – fun, well organised and most importantly great agents”. Jonathan Quinn of the Centre of English Studies who has been coming to the event since it began, commented that it was “yet again another successful and worthwhile ICEF Brazil. The agents were quality and looking for specific and relevant products. I also think that the number and quality of the agents gets better every year. This event has been worth the expense!”

“Great workshop! Outstanding educators! A very valuable opportunity” was how Ana Maria Ferrer, an agent from Educaustralia in Chile described the event. Ana Maria also qualified, alongside Leonardo Trench from GradeUP agency in Brazil, as an ICEF Trained Agent Counsellor (ITAC) on day one of the workshop. More information, including the contact details of all ITACs can be found on the following link: http://www.icef.com/agent-training/iatc/itacfinder/list-o...

The highlight of the workshop social programme was once again the evening reception. This year participants enjoyed a highly acrobatic capoeira demonstration, a variety of dancers - each representing the different traditions of carnival, and samba musicians. Event participants were taught a part of a dance routine and joined the samba group for a mass performance.

The next ICEF event is the Asia Workshop, which takes place October 16 - 18 in Beijing, China. This event sees agents from all over Asia come together to meet with international educators and industry service providers. Further information on this event can be found at: www.icef.com/workshops/asia
