iPad Essentials for Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments Accepting Registrants

ST. LOUIS - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- An interactive workshop to encourage efficient use of the iPad as an instructional tool for students with visual impairments is accepting registrants for the session that will occur on Tuesday, October 8, from 5 – 7:30 pm.

This workshop will showcase interactive demonstrations of apps that promote literacy, productivity, classroom interaction and the use of Accessible Instructional Materials. The Comprehensive Low Vision Project (CLVP), a Lighthouse for the Blind See the Future program, is hosting the workshop which will be held at Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments located at 1750 S. Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis, 63117.

The presenter, Kevin Hollinger, is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist and Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments at Francis Howell School District. Kevin is also the Director of the Lighthouse Summer Orientation and Mobility and Adapted Living Resource (S.O.A.R.) program.

CLVP teacher Ashley Bement says, “We hope to offer additional programs in the future for teachers and families that take advantage of Lighthouse programs. Delta Gamma Center provides a comfortable space that many families are familiar with and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
