Get Pumped for Back to School at the Promenade Pep Rally

TORONTO - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Back to school shopping is the second largest shopping event next to holiday shopping and to celebrate, the Promenade Shopping Centre (1 Promenade Circle, Thornhill) is getting ready for back to school with the Promenade Pep Rally in support of the Leave Out Violence Charity on Saturday, August 24 from 11am-3pm in Centre Court.  For additional information, please visit www.promenade.ca.

No pep rally is complete without cheerleaders. A performance by the Toronto Argonauts Cheerleaders will get the crowd in the Back to School spirit. For more than 30 years, the Argos Cheerleaders have cheered on the boys in blue at every home game. They lead the cheers of tens of thousands of Argos fans at Rogers Centre through eye-catching choreography and precise dance routines and now they’re bringing their show to the Promenade.

 

Gleeks will rejoice when they hear Choir! Choir! Choir! perform. Founded by Daveed Goldman, who manages the popular Aunties and Uncles brunch restaurant and Nobu Adilman, former host of the cooking show Food Jammers, the group has performed at many events across the city including the NDP leadership convention in 2012. They sing their own arrangements of popular music hits, ranging from Bryan Adams’ Run To You to Tegan and Sara’s I was a Fool. 

 

Discover what everyone will be wearing around campus this Fall as leading blogger Lena Almeida of Listen to Lena shares back to school trend tips for the entire family. Expect to see classic prints like houndstooth and leopard, chunky knits, military inspired looks, knee socks, platform shoes, bold blazers and crisp collared shirts in the classroom for girls. V-kneck sweaters, button down shirts, khakis, loose fitting cargo pants, graphic t-shirts, colourful shoes and printed sneakers are must haves for boys.

 

Bullying is a problem in schools.  The Leave Out Violence (LOVE) Anti-Bullying Workshop will arm youth with information on what to do if they find themselves or their friends in this situation.  Founded in 1993, LOVE is an award winning grassroots youth organization with branches in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, New York City, USA and Eilat, Israel. BACK TO SCHOOL NO TAX EVENT AT THE PROMENADE – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 21

Kick off the back to school season in style with amazing deals and savings!  The Promenade is hosting an exclusive "We Pay the Tax" Event on Wednesday, August 21 from 5pm-9pm.  Nearly 100 retailers will be participating and offering to take care of the taxes for you!
