NEW YORK - Aug. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Thursday August 8, 2013 - On Saturday September 7th at MIST Harlem, Original Housewife Collection creators and founders of Non-profit Organization 'People's Resource & Development Association' [P.R.A.D.A] will hold their 3rd Annual 'Shop Indie 4 A Cause' Fashion & Trunk Show Fundraiser hosted by Love & Hip-Hop New York personality Yandy Smith. The organization headquartered in the Bronx that run successful After-school and Summer programs for ages 4-17 was founded in 2007 by friends Janine Smalls, Lanise Herman-Thomas and Simonne Banks . The ladies of P.R.A.D.A’s mission is devoted to meeting the educational and developmental needs of children and adolescents, while acknowledging with response to the potential achievement and interdependence of young adults.

'Shop Indie 4 A Cause' Fashion & Trunk Show is held during NYC Fashion Week February & September, in support of raising funds for the two most impressionable programs ran by the organization, the Anti-Generation Genocide and Fashion Academy Programs. Both programs provide self-esteem workshops and positive conflict resolutions. The programs offer adolescence the opportunity to exercise and develop their skills and recognize their talent.

The event coordinator; co-founder and 2013 recipient of the Image Entertainment Distinction Humanitarian Award Lanise Herman-Thomas developed this event as a platform to connect with the community, "Fashion & Music have a huge impact on our community, there are so many talented youth out here and not enough opportunities afforded" says Lanise "We allow our children from the program to present to their family and peers through this event whatever their craft is, they need to be praised and recognized as our future leaders it is important for them to know that they can be whatever they want, our youth need saving. "

Lanise also designed an apparel line 'The Original Housewife Collection' in 2011 as a another fundraising method to support the Y.E.S. [Young Entrepreneurs Success] Academy, the concept is to influence (encourage) and support marriage; something our community does not uplift. "We lack two parent households says Herman-Thomas who is a wife and mother to two young ladies, it has become acceptable to be just the mother of and not the wife, what happened to that goal? We need to get back to that place!"

Organizations like P.R.A.D.A. are necessary for our children, outreach programs have downsized tremendously in our communities; "There aren't enough activities to engage our youth and prevent them from becoming statistics of society exclaim partners Janine and Simonne, we are all mothers and wives with responsibilities but we also realize our responsibility to our community, positive influence begins with us the parent."

Host Yandy Smith has been a huge supporter of the organization inviting the ladies to participate in events with her company Everything Girls Love in an effort to help raise awareness. When asked to lend support to the cause, Yandy did not hesitate reasoning "As a new mom and Harlem native I can relate to the need of urgency to provide better resources in our urban areas for our youth, it is so very important for them to know that there are people who care enough to want to help them channel their day to day frustration of feeling they have no way out !"
