BBC Book Contract For Call Centre Boss Nev Wilshire
Local businessman and star of BBC3’s The Call Centre will now have his unique management methods captured in print forever with his debut book – Happy People Sell: My Strategies for Success.
By: Save Britain Money
From compulsory sing-alongs in board meetings to arm wrestling for a promotion, Nev introduced the nation to a management style ranging from absolute genius to outright bizarre.
And now, fellow managers will be able to share Nev’s no nonsense approach and words of wisdom, in his book aptly titled after one of his famous catchphrases, Happy People Sell.
The hardback book will draw on Nev’s many experiences and will be peppered with anecdotes from some of the show’s popular characters like Hayley the tea lady and Chickenhead.
Containing colour photos from the call centre and exploring the ideas behind Nev’s unique management concepts, the book will also contain some necessary amendments from HR when Nev’s not looking.
Nev said of his new venture;
“I’m absolutely delighted to be committing my thoughts on management to paper and am grateful to BBC Books for the opportunity. I’m sure my book will either confirm people’s views that I’m a loud and overbearing Welshman, or just maybe give people some fresh ideas on how to get the best out of people with a smile, a song and a little bit of arm wrestling! Either way I’m sure people will find it an entertaining read, and who knows we might soon have Mr Brightside being sung in offices all over the country.”
Happy people sell – My Strategies for Success will be available in all bookshops including Amazon from 24th October
