| Automotive Excitement Returns to the Bloomsburg FairgroundsBloomsburg Nationals Powered by Carlisle Events Returns in 2013 with Live Music, Stunt Shows and More
By: Carlisle Events In 2012, nearly 1,000 show worthy vehicles and thousands more enthusiasts experienced the first-ever event and the fun generated during that August weekend set stage for this year’s fun. Event weekend gets underway with a Thursday night kick-off party with event partner Quaker Steak & Lube. Their facility, about 2 miles from the fairgrounds, hosts great food and drink deals plus a cruise-in, giving everyone onsite a chance to get a sneak peek at what types of cars will be gathered on grounds the following day. As part of the weekend, attendees can traverse the grounds and take a trip back in time via the Fun Field and swap meet. The 227-acre fairgrounds at Bloomsburg will host not only some of the finest cars in the region, but also vendors selling collectables as well as automotive pieces and parts best suited for restoration or modification projects. Weekend entertainment includes a wing eating competition, downtown gridlock parade and street party, live music with Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods plus a burnout competition, beauty contest and more. Family activities include a kids’ activity area and Women’s Oasis. Both provide great automotive alternatives and serve as break from the tailfins and chrome showcased onsite. Finally, the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds also features a great food selection, providing all on grounds with a vast array of dining options. “I've been a car guy all of my life and managing the Bloomsburg Nationals gives me the opportunity to work with all brands of vehicles and the owners,” noted event manager Ed Buczeskie. “I'm really looking forward to adding even more fun and entertainment to such an already exciting show.” End
