CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - July 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Coral Springs, FLA – July 16, 2013:  Festival of the Flutes, an organization of volunteers and businesses who host a signature event to support local charities in South Florida, is pleased to announce their 10th annual food and wine event on Wednesday, October 2nd at The Parkland Golf and Country Club, Parkland.  

This year’s theme will be “Wine Country Safari”, so grab your loin cloths and safari attire and join us for fun, good food, silent auction, dancing and entertainment. We will be giving out prizes for the best outfit. There will be the usual wide selection of wine tastings and food pairings, generously donated by local restaurants and wine bars.

There will be two local charities benefiting from the event.  100% of the proceeds will be split between the two charities.  The first beneficiary will be Harvest Drive (www.harvestdriveflorida.com). The Harvest Drive incorporates all aspects of philanthropy by promoting the concept of children and adults working hand-in-hand to offer needy families in Broward County gifts of food and other necessities, during the Thanksgiving holidays and throughout the year.

The second charity is The Stockdale Foundation (www.thestockdalefoundation.org).  The purpose of The Stockdale Foundation is to raise money and provide scholarships to deserving students who have elected to continue their education at a technical or vocational school.   Scholarship opportunities for these deserving students are few and far between, and therefore the goal of The Stockdale Foundation is to overcome this lack of available funding and help these young men and women achieve their dreams.

Just three months away from the event, now is the time for local businesses to start purchasing sponsorships to raise their profile in front of 500 local residents, civic and community leaders.  The sponsorships range from $250 to $7,500.  Please contact the Event Chair, Lauri Dworkin at 954 604 3122 or cheetah@festivaloftheflutes.com.
