GroupTalent Levels Recruitment Game by Creating Transparent Marketplace

Platform levels the playing field for talent recruitment by empowering hiring managers and job seekers to find one another without an intermediary

SAN FRANCISCO - July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- San Francisco – GroupTalent <https://grouptalent.com/>, a hiring platform for technical talent, is launching an intelligent search function for employers and job seekers to discover each other based on specific search criteria. The new search function levels the recruiting playing field by giving all companies the same firepower regardless of the size of their recruiting budget.

Empowering both sides of the market, employers and job seekers, to find one another without an intermediary is a move that echoes Expedia’s efforts to overhaul the travel industry in the late 1990s. Recruiting and online travel book is similar in that both rely on aggregating the largest amount of data possible about both sides of the market in order to streamline engagement and ease-of-use between buyer and seller.

“It is hard to believe that even today, job and candidate discovery remains a manual endeavor handled by specialized agents and internal corporate positions that are in charge of filling a variety of job openings. This is essentially an information discovery problem…a problem that’s been solved by computers many times over. It’s time that the hiring process caught up to other industries,” said Manny Medina, GroupTalent CEO.

For developers and designers, GroupTalent makes it easy to discover opportunities that align with their interests and decision-making criteria. It also allows them to represent themselves with rich profiles complete with contributions to various communities, companies, and individual projects.

For hiring companies, GroupTalent offers a service that simplifies the engagement process and sits atop a growing base of developer and designer candidates actively or passively looking for positions. A hiring manager can easily create a rich profile for their open position, and invite specific talent that meets their criteria to review it and discuss if it’s a fit.

Going further, GroupTalent also offers companies a new way to engage talent beyond outright full time hiring - they call, “try outs” which allow companies to incentivize otherwise passive talent to give them a “try” for a few weeks and feel out product and team. Talent gets paid $3000 to $7000 a week to jump in and build something useful for the company while getting a taste for the corporate culture, and the company gets a chance to see if this employee would fit in as a permanent member of the team.

GroupTalent currently has more than 200 vetted companies looking for technical talent in San Francisco and NYC markets. By initially focusing on major metro markets, GroupTalent is able to tap into the benefits of community networks with dense talent pools.
