The story revolves around Agnes, who had to take care of her pregnant mother and three other siblings when her father disappeared suddenly. Later an unforgetful incident which occurred in her childhood makes her extremely cautious about men. Still she falls in love with a man who she was forced to abandon. Her marriage to the next man was cancelled and finally she was forced to marry a man who abused her.

In her self contained life’s journey Agnes comes across different women living under different circumstances. Each had a story to tell Agnes. She was most impacted by two young women – one who died a mysterious death at the platform of Waltair Station and another mentally challenged girl who was raped in her home by her own husband.

The book is divided into many chapters spanning 246 pages. Each chapter is loaded with her experiences and her evolving determination to fight for women’s causes.

Annu Pillai, the author of Waltair Station was a teacher by profession. She is also a Women’s Rights Campaigner. Her writings reflect her beliefs.
