The popularity of the bakery and the economic revitalization of Harlem birthed an expansion with Les Ambassades restaurant conveniently located next door.  A grand opening is scheduled for Friday, June 14th, 6pm at 2200 Frederick Douglass Boulevard with special invited guests and local politicians.

Gorgui N’ doye once served as district owner/manager for the popular Ricky’s drugstore chain in New York and sold his portion of the business to reinvent and offer the ultimate Afro-Parisian eating experience in Harlem. It was over ten years ago when N’ doye experienced the pulse of the neighborhood and wanted to invest in Harlem’s restaurant row before it became popular; “I wanted to be part of this movement and started with a little bakery, people, and word of mouth did the rest. It has not always been easy, however, we survived the recession and will continue to expand to meet the demand of the Sengalese and American community,” says N’ doye. Brand Les Ambassades is simply Africa with a touch of Paris in Harlem; inspired by the best French pastry shops of Dakar and Paris with a motto to provide affordable mouthwatering cuisine, while serving dishes from the African Diaspora, France and America. Patrons can expect a spacious family-friendly vibe, occasional live music, $15 entrees (plus a children menu), and extended hours (10AM-3AM).
