2012 Hyundai Veloster Gains Horsepower with AEM Cold Air Intake System

HAWTHORNE, Calif. - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- AEM intakes, a pioneer in cold air intake manufacturing and design, proudly announces the release of AEM 21-715P and 21-715C Cold Air Intake Systems for the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, providing additional horsepower gains.

The sporty Hyundai Veloster combines the best of a compact exterior, spacious high-tech interior and fuel economy into a nice and affordable package. The Veloster is equipped with 1.6 liter, 138 horsepower GDI DOCH 4-cylinder engine – enough to get things moving, but keep things practical with its EPA rated 37 MPG highway.

Despite the Hyundai Veloster’s decent get up and go, an estimated 8 horsepower gain at 5700 RPM can be achieved with the use of the AEM 21-715P or 21-715C cold air intake systems. Both air intake systems come standard with all of the necessary hardware for installation with no modifications to the Veloster needed. By simply removing the stock air intake system and installing AEM’s high performance air intake, following easy to read installation instructions, additional horsepower can be easily added to the vehicle. Also included in the kit is a one piece air intake tube, PCV (positive crankcase vent) hose and attachment, tube connection hose, mounting hardware, hose clamps and AEM’s 21-203DOSK DryFlow Synthetic (non-oiled) performance air filter.

The AEM DryFlow air filter can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning, depending on driving conditions. However, AEM also offers the optional 1-4000 Pre-Filter Air Filter Wrap for individuals driving in dustier than normal conditions. The air filter wrap can help extend the service life of the filter by capturing larger dirt particles before they hit the filter. It adds minimal restriction to the air flowing into the filter, creating a win-win situation.
