NEW YORK - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- What makes some businesses succeed when 25 percent of new business fails in the first year, and 70 percent fail after a ten-year time?

What made Colonel Saunders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken succeed despite receiving 1009 rejections?

Why Henry Ford, after failing and filing for bankruptcy five times in his early business adventures, was still able to succeed and find the Ford Motor Company?

They all dared to endure the uncertainty of the moment.

Even if it seems impossible, endure

To endure, from Latin “indurare”, means to go through patiently. To endure means having tolerance and tenacity to bear the hardship of whatever we chose to do, and in spite of the discomfort experiencing at that moment we “tough it out” and move forward until we reach our final destination.

It means being resilient in the face of adversity, and able to adapt to overload, pressure and/or disappointment while finding the strength to bounce back from any experienced difficulty. Endurance measures person’s stamina, persistence, courage and fortitude.

Having endurance involves maintaining the will power to stick to the goal we chose to achieve. We refuse to get distracted and affected by other people’s negative and exaggerated fear-oriented messages. Instead we empower our willpower to succeed.

In order to endure or keep on going, our focus must be riveted to our:

Intentions:
• having the “will” to do things and endure any setback
• building an awareness of what we want to achieve
• acknowledging what are our loses if giving up and gains if we continue with our goal, and
• maintaining a continuous awareness of what the consequences of our action will be

Effort:
• when faced with a challenge, what fear reactions we may face on our journey
• how to build real fear fact finding behavior and reduce exaggerated fear behavior based on assumptions
• are we going to get scared easily and what fearful memories may arise to block us from achieving our goal
• are we going to feel more helpless or hopeful to move on

Courage:
• willingness to face the power of Exaggerated Fear and it’s negative and off-putting messages
• moving away from nurturing Negatudes, or negative attitudes, in our goals
• escaping rationalizing behavior
• stopping half-hearted action
• noticing what we are avoiding to get out from the difficult situation
• encourage optimism and positive belief – building UPtitudes
• strengthening UPtitude, or moving forward, and empowering positive behavior
• believing in the ultimate power that action creates

Endurance benefits
1.     Staying focused and having a sense of perspective we want to achieve:
• When things appear to go wrong and are faced with crushing setbacks we know the importance of our purpose and the action we take.

2.     Awareness in having choices to handle challenges:
• We can’t control what happens to us, but we have a choice how to respond.

3.     Accepting changes:
• Changes and uncertainty are part of life. We can either be rigid or flexible and pliable when an obstacle appears. We can keep a Negatude, negative attitude, approach or UPtitude, positive attitude, approach to life outcomes.

4.     Learn to stay and become calm and contained:
• When reacting under escalating stress we need to take a step back in order to calm down.

5.     Overcoming fears:
• Recognizing the negative influence Exaggerated Fear has on our focus and a desire to achieve a goal. See the benefits of the real or fact- oriented fear has on assessing the situation correctly. Understanding the benefits UPtitude brings to our successes.

6.     Staying focused with the positives:
• Focus on a successful outcome in life. Build hope, curiosity and desire for the unknown and mysterious that life bring. Practice UPtitude by daring ourselves when facing obstacles in our activities.

And … Don’t give up!
To endure means to accept life as fluid and accept it with courage and stamina even though, it can be full of good and painful surprises. So, before you decide to give up, look at some examples of how far staying power of endurance can get you:

• In spite of being kicked off from his basketball team as a sophomore in High School and told he was not good enough to play basketball; missed more than 9,000 shots; lost 300 games; missed on 26 occasions the game winning shots; Michael Jordan still became the greatest basketball player of all time.

• Even though Warren Buffett was rejected from Harvard Business School, he became a multi billionaire and American Business Magnate.

• In spite of being told to lack creativity and good ideas, was turned down 302 times from getting finances for Disney World and countless movies, Walt Disney didn’t give up and succeeded in bringing the joy to millions of people.

• What made Oprah Winfrey succeed although fired as junior reporter and told by the producer she was not fit for television show, if it is not for her determination and endurance.
