PADOVA, Italy - May 17, 2013 - PRLog -- For the first time in the World a famous “nawashi” (Japanese bondage – “shibari”- master) did a shibari performance in an art gallery (http://www.vecchiatoarte.com/en/artist/1442_hikari-kesho)

The event took place at Vecchiato Art galleries in Padua, Italy, on April, 17 and was attended by a selected public of Italian and international art collectors.

The exclusive video of the performance is to be published in the Internet,  May, 17 -2013 on: https://vimeo.com/65883495

During the event the famous “nawashi” Hikari Kesho staged a live performance in which a woman was tied with Japanese ropes and then suspended and made “fly” above the public, with a soundtrack of contemporary Japanese music. The effect was “breathtaking”, as one of the collectors, Mr A.F. from Milan,  commented: “It was a surprise, since we did not know exactly what kind of performance was it. Yes, there was nudity and eroticism but the atmosphere was so elegant and emotional that the final effect was breathtaking”.

The performance was the introduction to the official presentation of the artistic work of Hikari Kesho who  is unique in the world, since he is a “shibari” master who creates the bondage settings (in studio and outdoors, also in public places) and an expert photographer.
His art is a combination of performance and photography,  reaching results of great aesthetic and artistic value.

Hikari Kesho artworks have been published in many books and magazines (Goliath books, Playboy) and in 2012 he was selected (the only Italian photographer) for the exhibition “The Art of Contemporary Shibari” inside the FotoFest®, the first international Biennial of Photography and Photo-related Art in the USA. Hikari Kesho's photo "Observing the Stillness of Brenta River" was chosen to be the official poster of the Biennial.
In March, 2013 Hikari Kesho signs with the contemporary art gallery Vecchiato, which will promote him worldwide, recognizing  the quality and unique characteristics of his art.

Hikari Kesho has been recently invited to exhibit at Biennale Vught in The Netherlands (May,24 – June, 16), http://www.biennalebrabant.nl/website/, inside a selection of only five international artists.
