ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Florida Attorney Christopher C. Nash—Leavengood, Dauval & Boyle, P.A.—has been appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to serve as County Court Judge for Hillsborough County, Fla.The appointment is a major accomplishment for the experienced lawyer, who provides top-quality representation to individuals throughout the state for various types of legal matters.

A Tampa Bay Times article reported on May 6, 2013 that Attorney Nash was selected to replace Hillsborough County Court Judge Matthew Lucas, who was elevated to a circuit court position. Gov. Scott was quoted in the article stating why Attorney Nash appointed to the post. He said: “Throughout his career, Chris has demonstrated the qualities that make a great judge. I am proud to appoint him to the Hillsborough County Court and look forward to him serving Tampa with integrity and fairness.”

Attorney Nash, who joined the Florida Bar in 1998, has a rich professional history, which has enabled him to serve clients in various practice areas. The lawyers main focus areas within his practice are bankruptcy adversary proceedings, business litigation, commercial debt work-outs and foreclosure defense, though he also handles cases in many other areas. Mr. Nash has handled all types of trials—including bench and jury trials at both the state and federal level—and two appeals. He has provided representation in hundreds of consumer bankruptcy cases, and he even took on the role of Debtor’s Counsel in a Chapter 11 reorganization case, which was ultimately successful. Furthermore, Attorney Nash has been a Supreme Court mediator since 2010.

Attorney Nash grew up in a military family, and he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science, his Masters in Business Administration and his law degree, all from the University of Florida. Before becoming a shareholder and lawyer with Leavengood, Nash, Dauval & Boyle, P.A., Mr. Nash gained valuable legal experience at multiple law firms. At these firms, he worked in estate planning; business transactions and business litigation; and litigation defense. Today, Attorney Nash is able to handle cases in all of the Leavengood& Nash’s practice areas, which cover a diverse spectrum of legal needs.

Attorney Nash is admitted to practice law in the Florida Supreme Court and the in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The lawyer and newly appointed Hillsborough County Court Judge lives in Tampa with his wife and two sons. He is involved in his community, serving as a volunteer assistant coach for Bayshore Little League, and as an usher and children’s worship service leader at Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
