Antonio Canova (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Canova)’s statue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue) The Three Graces is a Neoclassical sculpture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoclassical_sculpture), in marble (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marble), of the mythological three charites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charites), daughters of Zeus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeus) – identified on some engravings of the statue as, from left to right, Euphrosyne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euphrosyne_%28mythology%29), Aglaea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aglaea) and Thalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thalia_%28grace%29) - who were said to represent beauty, charm and joy. The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings primarily to entertain and delight the guests of the Gods.
