May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Several Warwickshire businesswomen have collaborated on a book which aims to inspire others.

The book: Believe! The Gift of Inspiration For Female Entrepreneurs was the brain child of Coventry poet and author Sue Maggott.

‘I wrote a poem called Believe! and shortly after a series of events compelled me to share the important message of self belief with others. I came up with the idea of putting together a book in which female entrepreneurs would share their stories and poems and suggest exercises for readers to carry out, to help them increase their own self belief.’

Some of the local contributors are:

Elizabeth Beetham, a health journalist and wellbeing expert from Kenilworth. She explains her feelings after losing her husband following a massive heart attack. In her moving story she reminds readers: ‘The past does not equal the future unless you live there. You can change your life anytime you are ready. Small changes make a big difference and it’s really all about attitude. It is all about belief in yourself and that magic ability to identify what you really want. You can do this – it just takes a little courage and a lot of love.’ Elizabeth encourages the use of Affirmations as a way of harnessing the power to change things in our lives.

Andrea Soonius a Doctor of Chiropractic based in Coventry. Andrea explains that at the age of 26 she had a head on collision with a HGV lorry which left her with serious injuries resulting in a 3 months stay in hospital. Andrea shares her passion for her work and explains how the true power of chiropractic which helped her go from wheelchair to walking again.  She says: ‘ I have an inner voice pushing me to share the message that everything happens for a reason. My experiences have given me a greater understanding of pain, and have driven me to help as many people as I can. Finding your purpose in life is truly satisfying. I want to spread the word of living a life where we seek “not to sweat the small stuff”.   Belief is everything.’

Lynda Holt a business coach from Stratford Upon Avon shares her personal story of highs and lows. She explains how she feels lucky:  ‘I have exactly the business I want now, helping others to get out of their own way. I work with a great team and consistently meet fabulous, inspiring people. I believe that I am really lucky, not because of the business I created, but because I found myself again, I learned to believe in my gifts for the world and the value they bring.’ Lynda urges us to: Use your effort and energy wisely, focus on who you want to be rather than who you think you can’t be.

Natasha Abudarham Black is a Healer, Intuitive Transformational Mentor and Entrepreneur from Alcester. In Believe! Natasha tells us about her transformation from an alpha female top saleswoman to a calmer, more patient mentor to other driven women.  She tells us of her highs and lows and how her new way of life has cured previous physical stresses. Natasha urges readers to use the mantra: ‘there is no where I need to be other than right here, right now.’ At the end of her suggested journalling exercise in the book, Natasha says: Watch how your self belief grows along with your confidence when you take the time to recognise yourself.

Sue’s attendance at Natasha’s Inner Diamond Masterclass was one of the events which sparked the book.

Sue has also been on a personal development journey herself over the last few years. She took early retirement from her role within the Civil Service’s adult career information and advice services in 2010. She is now a poet, author, spiritual practitioner and laughter yoga teacher.

It is only since leaving her job that she has discovered her talent for poetry. ‘I started to write and to my surprise and delight, after three weeks of writing daily about  anything and everything that came to mind, my words began to come out in rhyme! Increasingly, I became more creative in the way that I was expressing myself. To the extent that I started writing poems about events, courses and experiences that I was attending. I also found that people began to ask me to write poems as a new and innovative way to illustrate their businesses, as well as for special birthdays and occasions.’  Sue now features regularly on the Poets Corner programme on Kenilworth’s Radio Abby with Elizabeth Beetham.

Sue has found exploring the world of the entrepreneur fascinating. ‘With the availability of the internet and exciting on-line tools such as Amazon Kindle and Createspace, it is a great time to be an entrepreneur.  My experience of producing my first book was made very easy as I was able to publish straight onto Kindle before producing the print version.’

There is also a lot oh help and support for new businesses available at this time.

Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, recently announced a £500,000 scheme to help set-up and grow small businesses

Sue is keen to emphasise that collaboration is at the heart of the book. The anthology contains contributions from people all over the world, that Sue has met during her own self- development journey. ‘It is with gratitude to all those who participated in this project, that I invite readers to learn from their experiences and shared tips to confirm and strengthen their own beliefs in their own dreams, their own legacy and their own power.’

Believe! The Gift of Inspiration For Female Entrepreneurs will be celebrated at an event on 10 May at The Four Seasons Function Room, Coventry. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear some of the contributors share their personal stories and talk about how they feel about being involved with the book. The event will also raise funds for the Nuneaton and Bedworth Doorway charity. Tickets can be purchased at:http://believecelebration-es2005.eventbrite.co.uk/?rank=1

Sue will also be speaking at Coventry Library on 22 May about Inspiration For Women.
