April 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Very few people actually have the dedication and the determination to muster up enough courage to take up writing as a profession as late in life as has been demonstrated by Punshil Kumar. The author spent his early life working in a library which allowed him to clutch his hands on all the latest books which are released in the market. In an attempt to cultivate his growing love for fiction writing, he read so many books written by American and Indian authors to learn the techniques involved in writing fiction. After reading scores of books the author joined the Writers Bureau, Manchester (England) for online study in order to study professional writing. After doing extensive research spanning almost three to four years the author started writing in earnest, but met with bitter criticism from publishers. He never got discouraged and his determination was next to the last. The only source of support and inspiration while facing odds came from his wife and daughters that carried a feeling of buoyant eagerness in his heart.

Being privy to the trials and tribulations of harsh personal life, the author in his book ‘Message from Baluchistan’ has brought to life the hardships which were faced by a family who lived in Punjab as well as Baluchistan. There are many themes and motifs which have been utilized by the author to aptly convey the right message on the part of the grief stricken family. The central plot of the story revolves around the Quetta earthquake in 1935 which affected the lives of hundreds of people in the worst possible way. With a first person perspective, the author highlights the struggle which is faced by a mother and her children when the disruptive event caused an upheaval in society and claimed the life of her husband. Some points in the book highlight the social status of women in those days and the amount of difficulty which was experienced by a single mother in this male dominated world. The story progresses as the mother tries her best to remain afloat in life while shuffling from one odd job to another. Later he showed the bright side as well, thinking, after every dark night there is a bright sunny day.
This heartwarming tale about a family in despair and his reassuring light is sure to move even the harshest heart and this is what makes this book an exciting read from a convincing author who himself felt an impasse and depended much on providence. This book is recommended for all those readers who are interested in a family drama, ready to mix their tears in an ever-widening pool, through which he has tried to arouse any visible interest among the readers.
