Free Careers in Video Games Panel at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology

HARRISBURG, Pa. - April 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Ever have an idea for a computer game and not quite sure how to make it a reality? A panel of successful game designers will share what it takes to get a game off the ground and into people's hands during the free Career in Game Design event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, April 12 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

Award-winning game developers Luke Peterschmidt and Ryan Dancey will offer insights on design basics, how to polish your game, and start down the road to publishing.

Peterschmidt is best known as the designer of the hit game Bakugan. Other highlights of Luke’s past include selling the company he cofounded, Sabertooth Games, to Games Workshop (London: GAW) earning his investors a 500% ROI in 9 months.

Dancey is the former Vice President of Wizards of the Coast (publishers of Dungeons & Dragons) and Chief Marketing Officer of CCP Games (creators of EVE Online). Among his credits are the Legend of Five Rings collectible card game and several products for Dungeons & Dragons.

Charles Palmer, Executive Director of the University's Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies, will moderate the panel discussion.
