LeanMeanMarketing.com, a company that is fully aimed to share helpful and practical tips on online marketing has recently released a video about how to protect your website from hackers (see http://www.leanmeanmarketing.com/simple-way-to-protect-website-from-hackers) and other online threats.

“One of the biggest issues online right now is that people's websites are being hacked for use for not-so-appropriate sites and all of these different prescription drugs that you can't promote or build links for or do regular types of promotion”, according to Hiddleston.

He explains, “These people who own these sites employ hackers to hack other people's sites and embed links to their websites or to your websites. A lot of the times this is done, the things, you don't even know it's done, it's almost completely undetectable to you even if you are an experienced web master. If you're not an experienced person and it's just a personal site or a small business site, there's very little chance that you would even realize that this has happened. Search engines, Google, Bing, all these engines would penalize you for keyword stuffing and improper content and all these other reasons.”

To prove the fact of the controversy, Hiddleston suggested to look or type into Google or other search engines the keywords like: 'cheap hackers online' or keywords of almost the same variation.

Surprising indeed, you can see tons of sites crowding the search results ended up being hacked.

“The website, the domain, if you just read the URL in the search, you will find that it has absolutely nothing to do with hackers or some drugs dealing with sexual problems and the like on their business site or people's personal sites. But when you look at the preview on the Google display, you'll see it's just stuffed with keywords top to bottom related to those keywords and those are sites that have obviously been hacked”, Hiddleston shares.

The good news is, it can be prevented.

Hiddleston shares, “One of the useful things that we actually do for all of our websites is we set Google alerts. If you're not familiar with Google alerts, it allows you to enter keywords and when the Google search engine indexes or crawls something containing that keyword or that information, you're emailed an alert with a link to that page and details about it. It allows you to set keyword reminders and different things to get notified when Google comes across them.”

It’s never too late to protect your site and stay safe. Scale-up your online protection and be wise.
